Our latest trip to Chicago included visiting “the bean“. The kids didn’t know what to think of this bean and they asked if we could take home, if the bean could fit it in their pocket, did it go in soup? Their unabandoned imagintion makes my heart explode. The thoughts that ran in their heads when we finally arrived…
No they couldn’t take it home.
It won’t fit in their pocket.
And we are not making soup.
It was so much better than all of that, the bean was huge, shiny, you could walk about it, and see yourself in it.
That moment of watching Hughes and Jettie reconcile their expectations of the bean, I knew their amazement and feeling of awe.
When I started Clary Photo I had ideas of what it would look like, what I wanted to achieve. I wrote a list of ten goals, a vision for Clary Photo, because I can’t get anywhere without knowing the destination. That list will be finished after this year, crossing the last 2 of 10 off…#9 shooting a wedding internationally and #10 being in Martha Steward Weddings.
Each and every friend I’ve met and couple I’ve photographed your dedication to love and marriage, you have made this destination so much better, bigger and shiner than I imagined.
Thank you for that.

I’m crying happy tears. I love you Darbi. Thank you for being my second shooter at the 4th wedding I ever photographed. I think about that day all the time. AND thank you for being a constant friend.
